TNG 1.5: Different

"Ring.. Ring.. Ring.. Ring.." my phone rang, I forced myself to open one eye to see whoever is calling me and apparently it was an unknown number, curse you stranger for disturbing me.
"Hello? Hmm."
"Hey sleeping beauty, wake up wake up!" the voice from the other line sounded cheerful and very familiar.
"Who's this?" I moaned in distress.
"It's Masen, wake up love."
"For what? What time is it anyway?"
"For what? You said you wanted to follow us to the park? And it's 11"
"Oh yeah."
"Get ready, we'll be there in half an hour."
"Okay."

I rubbed my eyes as I make my bed and went to the bathroom, washed up, wore a black and blue stripe half length sleeves t-shirt, jeans and tied my wavy brunette hair into a messy ponytail. I went downstairs to the kitchen, I looked around and there was no one to be found, then I went upstairs to my mom's room. As I figured, she was sleeping safe and sound like a baby. I slowly closed the door and peeked in the twins' room, they were still sleeping too. I went to the kitchen to write a letter on the stick note;

"Mom, I'm going to the park with Masen and his friends. Will be back by 6 p.m, if you need anything just message or ring me. Love, Vic."

I stick it onto the refrigerator. In about five minutes later, I heard the doorbell rang, I opened the door and there was Masen; wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts, and Matt; wearing a green hoodie and brown khaki shorts. We decided to walk to the park as they showed me the way to the school, hospital and other buildings. When we reached there, we sat at the bench under a gigantic tree so we were blocked by the sun under the shade. A while later, a petite girl with long red hair came towards us, she was wearing a purple long sleeves t-shirt and white shorts.
"Hello Lisa Brock." Matt said.
"Hello Matthew Stewart." Lisa smiled.
"Well Mrs. Stewart-to-be, this is our new friend, she's going to our school." Matt introduced me to Lisa.
"In your dreams Matt. Hi, I'm Lisa." said Lisa and shook my hand.
"Vic." I said with a smile.
"But you said you'll be mine?" Matt said dramatically.
"Eventually, if you're the last guy on earth."
"That's harsh." Matt pretended to be hurt by what Lisa had said.

We walked around the park before we decided to sit on the grass below a shady tree, Matt and Masen laid down on their backs while Lisa and I just sat there crossed legs beside them. The weather was warm and the skies were filled with different shapes of clouds. Just as we were trying to figure out the shapes of the clouds, my phone rang. I thought it was mom, so I quickly took my phone out of my front pocket of my jeans and checked it, it wasn't mom, unfortunately it was from someone else, someone from the past, I rolled my eyes and ignored it. Little did I know, Masen was analyzing me the whole time
"Who is it?" Masen asked as he sat up a little with his arms support him.
"Huh? Oh, wrong number maybe." I lied.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah definitely, don't worry." I gave him a convincing smile.
"Alright if you said so." he laid back down.
"Hey Vic, are you gonna start schooling tomorrow?" Matt asked.
I shrugged, "Possibly, I haven't discuss anything with my mom yet."
"Well, whenever you're gonna start let us know, we'll be there for you." said Lisa with a smile.
"I can't wait to have an actual girl best friend." she added before pulling me in a tight hug.

Lisa is truly a beautiful girl, her hair, her smile, even her personalities. The boys are incredibly awesome I mean they're just fun to be with very easygoing, I think I can survive this new school thing. I smiled genuinely looking at the three of them.
"What?" Masen spoke up when he noticed I was smiling alone.
"Nothing." I grinned and looked down to the grass, avoiding Masen's deathly stare.
"Are you guys hungry yet?" asked Matt.
"Don't tell me you're hungry and craving for McDonald's?" said Lisa.
"You read my mind accurately my dear." Matt said charmingly.
"You're never too hard to read goof-head, you're all about food, video games, food, music, and obviously food." Lisa said, playing with Matt's hair.
"You love me anyways."
"More like he loves you." Masen chuckled.
"Really?" Lisa turned to Matt and raised an eyebrow.
Matt faked a cough, "Err no, of course not, no. I mean, yeah, I do I love you, but only as my friend, duhh."
"Of course you do. Come on, let's go, I'm starving." Lisa pulled Matt by the arm and went off.

Masen and I walked side by side just behind Lisa and Matt to the nearest McDonald's, they were pushing each other off the side walk, on the road, luckily there was no car in sight. While we were walking, I looked around and there were so much things to see and the shops were really reasonable, I noticed Masen wasn't that tall at all, if I'm on my tip toe maybe we would have the same height.
"Are you okay?" Masen suddenly asked, probably to break the silence away.
"Yeah I'm fine, why?" I said without even looking at him.
"You seemed quite off since you got that call at the park. Is everything alright?"
"Oh that call, it was nothing. I like the friendship that you guys have, how goofy you guys can be with each other just like Matt and Lisa," I pointed to them and giggled, "You guys are so much different than the others."
"How different?"
"I don't know. But it's a good different." I smiled and finally looked at Masen, those blue stunning eyes are to die for. I realized, he didn't just opened a conversation to break the silence but he was concerned about me. I smiled, Masen oh Masen, I've only been here in less than 72 hours yet you're so nice to me, I hope you're gonna be that way till the end.

As we reached there, Lisa and I sat beside each other at the four-people table.
"So what do you guys want? My treat." said Matt while he checked his wallet, Masen peeked at Matt's wallet.
"Make that OUR treat."
"I want Double Cheeseburger. Pronto dente!" Lisa ordered like she's some kind of queen.
"I'll take that too."
"Alright, two Double Cheeseburger coming right up. We'll be right back."

A few minutes later, they came back holding two trays. We ate our burgers and talked until it was almost 6 p.m, we managed to exchange our numbers in case of any emergencies. Lisa called her mom to fetch us home and had sent Masen and I home first. I thanked Mrs. Brock for her kindness and they drove off, Masen went to his lawn and I went to mine, we waved and even shouted goodbye until one of us went inside the house. Next, I have to find my mom and discuss with her about the school, yay fun, pfft. "Mom?"

TNG 1.4: Dinner

It was 8 p.m and I was sitting alone at the couch casually watching the television when I heard a noise in the kitchen. I peeked at the kitchen and I had no such luck, it was dark. A few minutes later, I felt uncomfortable. Shit. Now, I really don't have any other choice. I quickly took my jacket from the coat stand behind the door and went to the Brandon's house.

Without hesitation I pressed the doorbell, "Ding.. Dong.. Ding.. Dong.."
"That's not fair! I'm not even touching that thing." Masen said before he opened the door.

"Hey." I said, folding my hands across my chest.
"Hi. What are you doing here?" said Masen, I just noticed that he was wearing black t-shirt and brown shorts.
"Well, my sisters and my mom are coming home late due some problem and I kinda think if I can.." I paused for a second as I rubbed my neck.
"Hangout with us until your mom's come back?" Masen finished my sentence.
"Yeah, if you don't mind."
"Nahh, it's alright. Come on in, make yourself at home." he said with a smile.
"Thanks."

We walked in to the living room, there was Matt crossed legs on the floor playing PS3 that was connected to the television,
"Hey Matt, Victoria wants to hangout with us until her family comes home."
"You can call me Vic."
"Cool, and you can call me Batman." Matt joked without taking off his eyes from the television screen.

I sat on the couch facing the television while Masen joined Matt, continued playing PS3. There was a tint of awkwardness.
"Where's your family, Masen?" I decided to say something when I realized the house was quite empty except the presence of these two boys.
"They're out. Just like yours, and they're coming home late too."
"Oh. Your house is nice by the way."
"Thanks. And by the way, had your dinner yet?" Masen finally paused the video game and turned to me.
"Not yet. How about you guys?"
"Nope, and I think I'm gonna starve to death if I'm going to sleep here, Masen!"
"I'm sorry bro, I have nothing cooked in the kitchen, all frozen."
"I can cook for you guys." I shrugged.
"You can cook?" asked Masen, with a slight shocked expression on his face.
"Please say yes, or else I'm gonna eat him." Matt practically begged me.
"Yeah, I can cook. So, I'll be right back?" I said, it came out more like a question and disappeared to the kitchen.
"See Matt, that's a wife-to-be looks like. You know what they say about girls can cook right, and I quote 'the way to a man's heart is through his stomach'. What else do you want in a girl?"
"Pish posh, get to know her first can you?"
"Hey Masen, where's the knife?" I shouted from the kitchen.
"The first shelf at the first right drawer." Masen shouted back.
"Found it, thanks!"
"Yeah, maybe I should." said Masen and they both continued playing the video game.

Later..

"Dinner's ready, I guess." I said.
"Wow, I'm impressed." Matt nodded as they came in.
"I found the spaghetti and I thought maybe you guys would like a pasta dinner."
Masen came and pulled a chair for me to sit and sat beside me, "So what's this?"
"Just a simple pasta cabonara with bacon strips."
"Yum, let's don't waste any more time and dig in!" Matt said.
"Yummy, you're an incredible cook. I don't mind living with you for a thousand years." Masen said.
"Thanks." I said with a laugh.
"You have a cute laugh." Masen said softly.
"Pardon?"
"Ehem ehem, nothing, I just said that this is so so delicious." Masen said.
"Good one bro." Matt chuckled.

We finished our dinner and cleaned up the table before we walked to the living room and sat on the couch, I sat beside Masen as he changed the television channel. There were no interesting shows so we decided to watch a movie, Matt jumped off the couch and searched for a movie at the television shelf.
"Are you guys up for a comedy movie or a scary movie?" he looked up from the DVDs he was holding.
"I'm up for a comedy movie. Not that I'm scared or anything." I tried to lie and I failed, terribly.
"It's okay if you're scared, our blondie here isn't that brave either." Masen laughed.
"Bullshit Masen, don't come crawling over me if you find a monster under your bed tonight." Matt sat back on the couch after he had inserted the DVD into the DVD player.
"I'm not the one who's sleeping on the floor."
"Shit." I heard Matt mumbled to himself, I forced myself not to laugh yet I giggled.

We watched the movie quietly, I brought both of my legs up on the couch and sat crossed legs. Then the door opened,
"Guys, we're home." Mrs. Brandon said. Mr. Brandon, Marie and Julie went upstairs.
"Oh hey, Mrs. Brandon." I said as the three of us turned our heads to the door.
"Well hello there Victoria, I didn't know you're here." said Mrs. Brandon.
"My family have some trouble with the car and I kinda scared to stay home alone. So, I came here, I'm sorry if I'm bothering you." I stood up from the couch when Mrs. Brandon came to us.
"Oh not at all, you can come here any time. Our family is your family."
"Thank you Mrs. Brandon. Well, I better get going now."

I thanked Mrs. Brandon before she went to the kitchen, I took my jacket and walked to the door.
"Vic, wait up!" Masen said as he walked towards me.
"Yeah?"
"Are you doing anything tomorrow?"
"I don't think so. Why?"
"Do you want to join us to the park?"
"And Lisa." Matt said from the couch.
"Hmm, sure I guess."
"Okay, can I have your number?"
"Aha? For?"
"I can be, err, your alarm clock for tomorrow." Masen said with a smile.
"Haha! Excuse!" Matt teased.
"Mind your own business, Matthew!"
"Haha, yeah sure." I said. Masen gave his phone and I dialled my number.
"Thanks. So, do you want me to walk you home?" said Masen.
"Masen, if you didn't notice, my house is just next door."
"Right, sorry. So, I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah sure. Bye, goodnight."
"Goodnight, take care." Masen smiled as he opened the door, I walked out and he shut the door behind me.

"I love you." whispered Masen as he slipped down slowly on the door.
"You are so damn desperate."
Then Mrs. Brandon walked out from the kitchen, Masen quickly stood up and ran to hug his mom,
"Thank you mom!" Masen said in his mother's arms.
"Woah, I know you will thank me. You're welcome. Now, you both go to bed." Mrs. Brandon demanded.
"Yes ma'am!" both of them said at the same time and walked upstairs to Masen's room. Mrs. Brandon turned off the television and lights, she smiled and shook her head thinking about her one and only son.

TNG 1.3: StarbucksLove

The same day..

Masen and Matt were just hanging out and talking at the Starbucks,
"I heard there's a new girl in town." said Matt.
"Yeah, my new neighbour." Masen sighed.
"Why aren't you excited? It's a girl!"

"I don't know, I'm not used with this thing."
"No doubt. You never had a serious relationship before."
"I do! Once."
"What? You meant Chloe? That was ages ago, and a peck on the cheek doesn't count."
"Pfft when's the last time you're in a relationship?"
"Dude, I'm the ladies man remember?"

Masen laughed and took a sip of his favourite drink, Caramel Cappucino,
"So, where's Lisa?" Masen teased.
"Why the heck are you asking me?" said Matt, blushing. Lisa was their best friend and Matt's crush.
"Well, just because you've got a major crush on her since 6th grade and now we're in 9th?"
"Don't you open that topic."

"Come on, you have to confess to her eventually."
"I might. Or may not. Either one."

But before Masen could say anything, his
 phone rang.
"Ring.. Ring.. Ring.. Ring.."

"Hi mom."
"Masen, your dad, sisters and I are going to be late tonight, so I just want you to stop by at our neighbour before you come home."
Masen checked his watch, "But mom, it's already five. Don't you think it's kinda late?"
"I don't think so, and I promised them that you would stop by."

"Can I just go tomorrow? I'm quite tired right now."
"Since when you're into this kind of excuses? No excuses Masen, just drop by and say hi."
"Haih, okay mom. By the way, Matt's sleeping in tonight."
"If you want to order anything just take the money in the first drawer alright honey."
"It's not the first time I did that. See you tonight."
"Don't forget to stop by. You'll thank me." she giggled.
"Alright mom! Bye."

Masen hung up, he felt really irritated of the idea stopping by and welcome the new neighbour yet it's not that hard to do but he's the type of guy who don't really exposed himself.
"What's up dude?" Matt asked and took a sip of his drink.
"My mom asked us to stop by my new neighbour before we head home."
"Then we better get going now."
"Yeah, let's go."

Half an hour later..

I was curled up on the couch at the living room, watching my favourite show. Then the bell rang, I opened the door and there were two boys; one with blonde quiff hair and green eyes and the other with brown straight hair and light blue eyes. I saw that same eyes before, but I can't put my finger on it.

"Hey, I'm Masen, your neighbour and this is.." he said while starring at the floor then he looked up,
"Wow!" he whispered, I could barely hear him.
"I'm sorry?"
"He means, he's Masen and I'm Matt." Matt said and shook my hand.
"Yeah, what he says." Masen shook my hand.
"I'm Victoria. Oh well, come in."

They sat down on the couch as I slowed the volume down,
"Do you guys want anything to drink?" I asked.
"It's alright, we've just.." Matt said but before he could finish his sentence, Masen nudged him by his leg.
"Yeah, sure." Masen said and gave Matt a look.
"Excuse me." I said then disappeared to the kitchen.
"What the hell man? If I drink another cup of water, I'll be the ship sinking in the ocean!" Matt complained.
"Don't you get it bro? She's hot."
"Yeah. Lucky she's your neighbour. I think she will never like you." Matt laughed.
"Why is that?"
"Who could resist this blonde hair guy huh?"
Masen laughed, "Well, Lisa, Arista, Atina, Jessie.."
"I get your point." Matt cut him off by placing his palm on Masen's mouth.

A while later, I walked to the living room holding a tray with three glasses of orange juice. I placed each glass on the coffee table in front of each person, then I sat on the one comfy chair beside the couch. Matt reached out for his glass and drank it,
"So, what grade are you in right now?" Masen asked me.
"I'm in 9th grade."
Matt almost choked on his drink, Masen tapped his back. Then he's alright, and drank it again, slowly.
"Any idea what school are you going to?" asked Masen.
"I don't know, maybe that Winston High School I guess."
And again, Matt almost choked on his drink and he coughed. Masen tapped his back again, then he's alright. He ended up placing the glass back on the coffee table.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah, he's alright." said Masen.
"Wow, you guys are so..."
"Charming? Cute? Handsome?" Matt said.
"Weird." I finished the sentence.
"So we've been told." Masen chuckled.
"So, where are your family?" Matt asked, probably he'd noticed no one was there except for me.
"No idea, maybe at the car company or somewhere. What school are you in by the way?"
"The Winston High School. So we're going to the same school, I guess." said Masen as he drank his drink.
"Oh, so that's why Matt almost choked on his drink, I get it."
"Nice going Matt." Masen whispered to Matt.
"What did I do?" said Matt kinda out loud.
"Haha, yeah, you guys are completely weird."
"Well, we better go now." Masen said.
"Okay, see you guys later."

I walked them to the door and watched them walked to Masen's porch, beside mine and waved goodbye. So that was Masen Brandon, no wonder I'd saw those blue eyes before, he got his mother's eyes, and he's kinda cute.. Wait, did I just say that, no no no, this ain't gonna happen again. Shake it off and don't get distracted. I glanced at the wall clock above the television, it was 7.30 p.m, mom and the twins aren't home yet. I checked my phone and there was a message from mom,

"Vic, your sisters and I are going to be late because our car broke down. So, we are going to have dinner outside. I know you can cook, cook yourself anything in the fridge. Take care and love you."

The first thought that came up my mind was wow, you just rent that car and it broke down, how useful. Hmm, that's just great. I'm alone? In the new house? No one in the house except me? Just me? Holy crap, creepy much. I have to do something or maybe..

TNG 1.2: Doorbell

"Aww, you're so sweet."
"I know, and you're so cute."
"And you're lying."
"No, I'm serious Vic.. Vic.. Vic.. Vic.."
Wow, that was.. weird? I opened my eyes, a slight tint of light shone through the window, it was just a dream? Damn! There was Yumi beside my bed trying to wake me up.

"Vic, wake up!!"
"What do you want?!" I muttered and covered myself with the blanket.
"Mummy asked me to wake you up."

"Go away."
"But it's almost one.." I felt her two palms pushing my stomach forcing me to get up.
"Tell mom I'm tired and she can wake me up only and if only someone die."
Yumi managed to push me literally off the bed before she shouted, "Mummy! Vic said she's a lazy bum bum and ask you to wake her up if me or Amy die!" and ran downstairs.
"Ouch! I didn't say that!" forced myself to stand and tried to catch Yumi as she ran down the stairs.
"Yes you did!"
"I'll get you later!"

I stopped in the middle of the stairs and blew a few strands of hair that had covered my face, thinking how can I have such annoying sisters. I made my bed, took a shower, and wore a white t-shirt and shorts jeans that was still inside the baggages. Then I went downstairs to the kitchen where mom was preparing us lunch I guess and sat at the table, beside Yumi, so that I could tickle her for what she did. That's how our family goes, we could joke to each other even after a huge argument even though I didn't had an actual argument with them before but yeah this shows how close we are. We ate our lunch and helped my mom cleaned the table. Then all of us decided to just chill at the living room together while the twins watched their favourite show, mom and I unpacked some of the boxes left.

"Ding.. Dong.. Ding.. Dong.." the doorbell rang.
"I'll get that." said mom.

As she opened the door, there were a father, a mother, and two daughters.
"Hello there new neighbour! We're your next door neighbour." said the father with a such cheerful tone.
"Are you the Steven's too?" asked mom.
"Oh no, we're your other neighbour, we're the Brandon's." said Mrs. Brandon with a sweet smile.
"Well, come on in. Meet my daughters, Victoria, Yumi and Amy." we were standing in a straight line exactly in order of the names she had said.
"My oh my, they're beautiful. This is my husband, Marie and Julie." Mrs. Brandon pointed to each one of them as she said their names. They came in and we shook hands, I realized Marie and Julie have the same brown hair and eyes just like Mr. Brandon whilst Mrs. Brandon have blonde hair and blue eyes.
"How old are you, Victoria?" Mr. Brandon suddenly asked me.
"I'm 15."
"Really? Too bad Masen's isn't here." said Mrs. Brandon.
"Who's Masen?" mom interrupted.
"He's our eldest brother. He's 15 too." said Marie with a sweet smile.
"I'm afraid he's out with his best friend. I'll tell him to stop by when he gets back." Mrs. Brandon smiled at me.
"That will be great." mom said before she shot me a smile, not just a smile, a suspicious smile.
"We're 9 years old." Amy and Yumi said, at the same time.
"I'm 9 too!" said Julie excitedly.

Great, now the 'teachers' have a 'student'. But, who is this Masen guy. Is he a sweet talker bullshitting guy just like.. Ugh! I've got to stop thinking about him! Past is the past, he's the past, don't let him break you, you're in a new town, new neighbourhood, new life. Here's the chance to change yourself from the things you've done back in LA, be a wise girl, open your eyes and don't let the same mistake replay itself.

"Where did you guys come from?" Mr. Brandon asked.
"We're from LA. The city that never sleeps! Literally." mom said.

Mom and Mr. Brandon kept on talking and making jokes about LA then Mrs. Brandon asked me,
"So Victoria, today is Saturday, any idea of which school you want to go?"
"I actually have no idea, and planning not to go that early anyway."
"Oh really? Why so?"
"Oh you know we just got here and I want to get comfy with the environment around." I blurted out a small laugh trying to convince Mrs. Brandon with my excuse. I lied, that was not the reason why I don't want to go to school or maybe a little bit but if I could I just want to stay home, I'm sick of the cliques and the status quo at schools, I mean every school will have these two things no matter where you are anyway. I hate it when they treat you different if you're a jock or- oh who am I kidding.
"Well if you're ready then you should go to The Winston High School. It may not be the best school around here but it's definitely good." said Mrs. Brandon.
"I'll keep that in mind, thanks." I managed to fake a smile.
"I'm sorry, do you want anything to drink?" mom asked.
"It's alright, we've got to go anyway. Marie has ballet practise. So, we better go now or else she's gonna be late." Mrs. Brandon said.

"I'm sorry I didn't get to know you well in such short time, please come by any time." said mom.
"Of course I'll drop by if I'm not busy."
"And I'll asked Masen to stop by later on." added Mrs. Brandon.
"We'll be waiting." said mom, with that smile again. I've always hated that smile, I know what she's up to, and it's never good.

We walked behind them to the door and waved goodbye as they get into the car and droved off. The twins immediately sat on the couch and controlled the television.
"Nice family huh?" asked mom, closed the door behind her.
"What do you mean by 'nice'?" I asked her back.
"What do you mean?"

"Do you have any specific nice inside your mind right now?"
"Erm no, just nice." mom giggled.
"I know what you're up to!"

"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Sure you don't, only someone insane will give me that evil smile without any reason."
"Pfft, I'm your mother, I would never!"

"Apparently I have an evil one." I said softly just so mom couldn't hear me.
"I'm going to take the car afterwards, do you want to come?"
"No thanks." I said as I walked up the stairs to my room.
"Well alright, your sisters are coming with me."

"Fine."

Shut the door and hopped onto my bed, just laying there looking at the ceiling wondering why did we came here at the first place. Being in a new place, a new environment seems pretty scary yet I liked it, leaving all those craps behind and start a new life, yeah, a new good life. Hoping that I could get at least one friend would be nice.. Nice- Masen, suddenly the thoughts of that Masen guy came running through my mind though I didn't know how he looks like but I'm just hoping we could get along well. Dammit, I have to talk to mom about the new school, urgh, maybe I'll take that Winston High School maybe it won't be so bad, who knows Mrs. Brandon might teach there too since she kept on dragging and dragging about how good that school is.

TNG 1.1: Manhattan, New York

"Vic.. Vic.. Victoria.. Wake up honey, we're here." I heard the sound of my mom's voice trying to wake me up.

I rubbed my eyes and yawned, leaned over to the window beside me and opened it, there was then a sudden spotlight of bright light shone over me, it took me a minute to realize it was a warm bright shiny day in Manhattan, New York, and the time there was around 8 a.m. My feet were frozen, my back and butt hurts. Well, I guess I have to deal with it. It took us about few hours to wait for all of our baggages, we managed to grab something to eat for dinner since we had ate on the airplane and climbed into literally two cabs to fit in our bags and headed to our new house.
"Hmm, not bad, nice neighbourhood." I said when I step out and took out our bags out of the cab.
"At least they got a playground just around the corner."
"Playground?! Yay!" the twins said.
"Yeah, you both can play there, but after you guys help me clean the house."
"Yes mummy!"
"Come on, lets go in." mom said as she paid the cab drivers.

I took my bags and followed them from behind. I took a small step into the new house and look around then continued carrying the bags to the first room and just threw it aside.
"The first room is mine!" I said loudly so that everybody can hear me from downstairs.
"No fair! I want the first room!" Amy said.
"Yeah, WE want the first room." said Yumi, the youngest.

Few minutes later I walked downstairs and went to the kitchen,
"Aww, too bad. First come first serve." and stuck my tongue out to the both of them.

As we were cleaning the kitchen the big truck arrived and honked, we hurried out to unload the truck as fast as we could and placed all off the boxes aside while the furnitures were brought in and placed into the positions that we wanted. It didn't took us a long time due to the number of people involved were around ten people and pretty much are experts in doing this things. When the truck left, all of us decided to clean the house since it wasn't that late yet, some of the boxes were brought up to the rooms. Then the doorbell rang, I opened the door and there was an old couple carrying a basket full of apples.
"Well hello there young lady, I'm Mrs. Steven and this is Mr. Steven. We're your neighbour." she gave me a warm smile "Is your mother home?"
"Of course, I'll call her for a moment." and disappeared to the kitchen where my mum were stacking the glasses in the top rack and came back to the door with my mom.
"Please come in." said mom as she wiped her dirty hands on the apron she wore before she started unpacking the things at the kitchen.
"Thank you, here's a basket of apples." handing the basket to my mom and she passed it to me.
I went to the kitchen to place the basket on the counter and came back to the living room and I sat on the hand rest on the single couch that she was sitting.
"Thank you, that's so kind of you. Those apples certainly looks fresh."
"You're very welcome. We have our own garden behind our house and we decided to use it wisely. By the way, I'm Mrs. Steven and Mr. Steven."
"That's great and very healthy, what else do you have in your garden besides the apples? I'm Susan Robinson, nice to finally meet someone in the neighbourhood." my mom said, she have the habit of moving her hands while talking, just like me. I guess like mother like daughter.
"We also planted few type of vegetables, ya know since we're getting old and we need to have proper meals every day." said Mr Steven.

Then Amy came from upstairs and sat on my mom's lap.
"How beautiful this child is. Your daughter?" Mrs. Steven asked.
Just before my mom could say anything, Yumi came running from upstairs and stood beside me.
"You mean beautiful children? Is there more?" Mr. Steven joked as he looked around.
"Haha, yes. These are my children, Victoria, Amy and Yumi." pointing to each one of us.
We talked about a few minutes mostly mom did all the talking and asking about the ways around Manhattan. Mr. Steven checked his watch and said, "Honey, we've got to go."
"Oh yes, we don't want to be late do we. I'm sorry my dear, but we've got to go."
"Oh it's okay, you could drop by any time you want. Thank you for coming."

We walked them to the door and waved goodbye, they got into an antique old car and droved off. They were such a nice couple, I wondered how long have they been together. Then mom continued cleaning the kitchen while the twins went upstairs. I asked mom if it was okay if I clean my room and leave her alone to clean the kitchen, she said yes, before I went upstairs I took three sandwiches and went up to the twins room, "Nerds." I called and practically threw the sandwiches to each of them. I took a quick shower before changing myself into my PJs and started unpacking the baggages whilst eating the sandwich. I took my time to hung some of my clothes in the closet and took out some of the stuffs in the boxes. Not long after that I heard my mom knocked on the door letting me know she had cleaned the kitchen yet the living room wasn't that complete, and also she needed a hand to clean her room.

I left immediately to her room because I felt guilty for not helping her with the kitchen and living room, so I hung few of her clothes while she took out some of the important stuffs out of the boxes and placed it on the dressing table and side table before she practically jumped onto her bed and slept instantly without even bother changing her clothes. I knew she was exhausted from cleaning the house and left the room quietly as I switched off the light on my way out, before I went to my room, I peeked in the twins' room, they were all snuggled up in their own beds and their room looks complete since they have each other to help out.

When I walked into my room I searched for my charger and phone inside my bag. My phone had died few hours ago and I didn't even care, why should I bother anyway? Life just went downhill just before we came here and to be honest I was quite happy we leaved LA though, I can't imagined how long I could stand looking at those so called friends. Pfft, it's all lies, he lied, she lied, everyone lied. I let out a heavy sigh and plugged in the charger to the electric socket near my bed side table and switched it on, a clear sharp light pierced into my eyes since I had switched off the light after I took my charger and phone. I squinted my eyes to look at the time that I had set to Manhattan time when we had landed and I can't believed it was already 2 a.m, so I placed my phone at the side table and closed my eyes.
